Zetron, a leading provider of mission-critical communication systems worldwide, has been awarded a contract by the Iowa Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

Zetron will soon be delivering a Next Generation 9-1-1 solution that will significantly enhance public safety services throughout the state of Iowa. Next Generation 9-1-1 standards, developed by the National Emergency Number Association (NENA), enables the public to send text messages, images, video and data to the 9-1-1 centers in addition to voice calls. The state of Iowa has 113 Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs), which will benefit from the upgrade of their systems.

Zetron’s MAX Call-Taking Next Generation 9-1-1 system will be hosted in geo-diverse, environmentally-hardened facilities. Zetron will also provide Public Safety applications including, MAX CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch), MAX GIS (9-1-1 mapping), Eventide Logging Recorder and PowerPhone Emergency Medical Dispatch software. RACOM, Zetron’s partner of choice, will be delivering installation, support, and maintenance services for the state of Iowa as part of this contract. Implementation is set to begin in 2018.

“We are honored by the award and look forward to helping the State of Iowa execute on their strategy to implement Next Generation 9-1-1. We are proud of our commitment to delivering standards-based call-taking solutions as required by Next Generation 9-1-1. Zetron’s MAX Call-Taking system ensures that the PSAPs of Iowa have the power to respond to emergencies, helping them save lives and protect property,” said Scott French, Vice President and General Manager, The Americas for Zetron.
